Helen is a Lebanese-American emerging children’s book author influenced by her South Texas upbringing, her world travels and her years of experience working with immigrant and refugee populations.
Professionally, when she is not writing, she works as a practicing Physician Assistant in underserved/refugee medicine focused on pediatrics and family practice. She has a background in Nutrition and International Public Health - which opened doors for her to successfully write and secure multi-millions in grants for non-profits and healthcare organizations serving the at-risk.
Personally, Helen has a husband and two elementary aged children - a son and daughter - who are her #1, most favorite supporters. She also has two spunky bunnies, Dulce and Snowy, and a rescue pup, Lola.
If you were to ask her family and friends to describe Helen, they would say:
If you were to ask Helen to name 3 random things about herself, she would say:
Avocados, tomatoes and lime are my go-to foods at any time. With chips, fish, queso or tortillas... Fresh tabouli and pita are a very close second.
Soy bilingue en español. I keep it up with daily practice.
Big, fun, loud earrings and cowgirl boots are my favorite fashion accessories.
